DISTRAKT SMOKES THE MIC

A quote from Rakim on his Paid in Full album describes it best, “I ain’t no joke I use to let the mic smoke”. On January 30th, 2006 Distrakt makes his microphone smoke reminiscent of Ace Frehley’s smoking guitar from KISS. Yes that’s right, Distrakt, the first MC in history to set his microphone on fire and rock it while it’s smoking. As Distrakt’s microphone started to blaze up while doing his hit song, Drugs the modern day Microphone Fiend, the crowd went crazy. “Everybody was always talking about how they smoke mics, so I just took it a step further and actually did it,” said Distrakt, “It’s nice to know that I’m the first to do this in Hip Hop history and probably the world.” Distrakt began his promotional tour for the upcoming release of his full -length album, Distraktions, due out February 21st 2006, by opening up for MF Doom at the Fox Theater in Boulder, Colorado.
