Paying Dues.

Grinding, striving, scuffling and steady hustling to make ends meet is a constant struggle. Everybody’s got a different gig to provide them proper food, clothing and shelter. Everybody’s got a different story. Paying dues is a part of the process. In order for me to do what I love to do I have to get out there and make it happen. Promoting myself by passing out flyers, doing shows and being a hard working salesman of my music. I know to some that sounds crazy, but like I said everybody’s got a different gig to make ends connect. It gets tuff sometimes, but I keep on going. For instance, on December 6th 2005 I was booked for a big show in Boulder, Colorado. It was snowing like crazy the day of the show, but none of the roads were closed, so I still pushed to the spot. It was a long trip (3 hour drive due to weather conditions) , but I made it there on time, began to sound check and right in the middle of my sound check they canceled the show. I didn’t trip I just made the best of the situation and made some cool friends which were some true hip-hop heads. I’d like to give shout outs to David Miller, Joe Newhall, David Tash, Kris Harris, Yroc, Milogic, Growsan, Dj LazyEyez of Basementalism and Sarah Finger from Fox Theatre for holding Distrakt down. The show got re-scheduled to January 30th 2006. For all you Denver and Boulder heads, make sure you come out to the show, it’s going to be a banger. Without struggle there’s no gain. Believe that.
